Second-hand Smoke

Are you a nonsmoker whit friends or relative who smoke? If you are, you may be breathing in “second-hand ‘smoke. This means that you inhale the smoke fom other people’cigarettes. Scientist now think tht living around second-hand smoke can couse as much lung damage as actually smoking ten cigarettes day. The world health conference said that.” Spending one hour in room filled whit smoke is the same as one cigarette.
Breathing in second cause you heart to beat fater aned your blood pressure to go up. It also increases the level carbon monoxide in your blood, smoke from the lighted end of a cigarette (called “sidestream smoke”) is especially dangerous because it contain much more carbon monoxide, tar, nicotine, and ammonia thatinheald smoke does.
The danger from second-hand smoke is greater for some people, especially the elderly and people whit respiratory (breathing) or heart problems. Also , babies and children who live around smoke have more irespiratory illeness that children of non-smoking parents. Second-hand smoke increases a child”s risk of getting pneumonia, bronchitis, or tonsillitis. To avolid the dangers of second-hand smoke, at least thirty states in US have made laws limiting smoking in public place. In California, which has the strongest law, smoking is illegal in all restaurants and public building.
